This fixed-term engagement is due for completion in June 2026 allowing for continuity and providing security to the incoming Change Specialist.
This exciting opportunity will allow the Change Specialist to play a key role in ensuring the project success but also by becoming a role model and advisor for Change Management in projects across the Council.
Having organisational wide support, funding and engagement, this Transformation is at the early stages so this is an ideal time to join.
Note: This role requires the Change Specialist to roll up their sleaves and do as needed as this reflects the down to earth yet outcome driven culture of this Council.
Based in Melbourne’s western suburbs, you will need to be onsite for a considerable proportion of the week. Finally, reporting to the Change Lead you will be supporting by both internal and external teams all with the goal to deliver Transformation success.
To be considered for this role, you will need (but not limited to) the following:
- Relevant Change Management certification/qualification
- 8 + years of Change Management experience (inclusive of an enterprise scale Transformation) and have worked in a variety of project deliver methods
- Understanding and experience using PROSCI Change Management experience
- Extensive experience producing Change Impact Assessments and collating associated data
- Ability to work with stakeholder of all levels with a highly adaptable attitude
- Experience working with local council or community-based organisations desirable
- Develop and lead implementation of Change Management strategies and plans for key organisational projects based on a structured methodology.
- Work with key stakeholders to design and deliver communications relating to change initiatives.
- Assess the Change Impact by conducting impact analysis, assessing change readiness and identifying key stakeholders.
- Work with key stakeholders to support the design and delivery of training programs relating to change initiatives.
- Draft communication material for project teams and the business on change related messages and activities supporting the project.
- Consult and coach project teams (as required) to integrate change management activities into their project plans.
- Undertake best practice project management and/or project owner representative duties on identified projects.
- Identify and address any areas of resistance to change, offering solutions and guidance to facilitate the transition.
- Collaborate with training teams to develop change management training material, support training and provide ongoing support to end-users.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with skills and abilities as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed from time to time including project management.
- Risk Management and accountable for the implementation and maintenance of sound Risk Management within the areas of Council’s responsibility and in accordance with Risk Management Policy. Create an environment where managing risk is accepted as the personal responsibility of each employee.
