Cyber Security Lead

We're partnering with a Local Council as they undertake a significant enterprise transformation, implementing an ERP platform and modernising their broader technology landscape.

To support this journey, we're seeking an experienced Cyber Security professional who can provide technical leadership, embed security-by-design, and help uplift cyber maturity across both the transformation program and wider enterprise environment.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a large-scale ERP transformation while working closely with senior stakeholders, architects, project teams, vendors, and technology leaders.

This is a 12 month daily rate contract, based in Melbourne.

About the Role
This role sits at the intersection of security architecture, technical leadership, and hands-on delivery.

You'll act as a trusted advisor to the ERP Program and Digital & Technology teams, helping shape secure solutions while remaining actively involved in implementing and uplifting security controls across cloud, SaaS, identity, and enterprise environments.

Key areas of focus include:

• Leading security-by-design activities across a major ERP transformation
• Providing security architecture guidance across cloud, SaaS, integrations, and enterprise platforms
• Designing and implementing security controls across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and connected systems
• Driving Identity and Access Management initiatives including SSO, MFA, RBAC, and Privileged Access Management
• Supporting Microsoft security technologies including Sentinel, Defender, and Entra ID
• Conducting security reviews across APIs, integrations, data migrations, and third-party platforms
• Supporting cyber risk assessments, security assurance activities, and compliance obligations
• Working closely with project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to translate cyber risk into practical outcomes
• Contributing to the organisation's broader cyber maturity uplift and security roadmap

About You
You'll bring a blend of technical depth, architecture capability, and stakeholder engagement skills.

We're particularly interested in professionals who have experience securing complex transformation programs and can confidently move between strategic discussions and hands-on implementation activities.

You'll likely bring experience across:

• Security architecture and secure solution design
• Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security
• Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, and Entra ID
• Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• SSO, MFA, RBAC, Conditional Access, and PAM
• Cloud and SaaS security
• API and integration security
• Security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management
• Zero Trust principles and modern security architectures
• ERP, SaaS, or enterprise transformation programs

Experience working within local government, government, utilities, education, healthcare, or other regulated environments will be highly regarded.

Knowledge of frameworks such as: ACSC Essential Eight, VPDSS, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001 will be advantageous.
