Cloud Specialist

We’re partnering with a progressive local council to appoint a Cloud Specialist who will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising modern cloud environments that support critical services for the community.

This is a genuinely impactful role where you’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and hands-on delivery, helping to uplift capability and drive cloud maturity across the organisation.

About the Role
Reporting into the Infrastructure Manager, you’ll take ownership of cloud services across the organisation - defining standards, improving performance, and ensuring secure, scalable solutions that enable broader digital transformation.

This role is based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne (hybrid 3 days onsite + 2 days remote.)

You’ll be instrumental in:

• Designing and delivering cloud-native infrastructure and architectures
• Establishing cloud governance, standards, and service catalogues
• Driving cost optimisation (FinOps) and performance improvements
• Leading cloud adoption, migration, and modernisation initiatives
• Embedding automation, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code
• Strengthening resilience, disaster recovery, and security frameworks

What You'll Bring
You’re a technically strong cloud specialist who can operate confidently across both engineering and stakeholder engagement.

Key experience includes:

• Strong expertise in Azure
• Experience designing scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions
• Hands-on capability with Infrastructure as Code
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
• Knowledge of cloud security, identity, and compliance frameworks
• Experience across hybrid or multi-cloud environments
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
