Data Governance Lead

• Lead the establishment of enterprise data governance for an ERP transformation
• Drive data quality, ownership, and migration across business-critical systems
• 12-month extendable day-rate contract

A large and highly respected organisation within the public sector is undertaking a major ERP transformation program to modernise core systems and improve data, reporting, and operational capabilities across the organisation.

They are in need of a day-rate Data Governance Lead, who will play a critical role in establishing and embedding data governance, data quality, and data management practices across a large-scale ERP program.

Working across business and technology teams, you will design governance frameworks, define data ownership models, and ensure data is accurate, compliant, and fit-for-purpose to support system implementation and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
• Establish data ownership, stewardship models, and governance operating structures
• Define and monitor data quality standards, KPIs, and remediation processes
• Provide oversight and governance for data migration activities within the ERP program
• Support data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and validation processes
• Maintain reporting artefacts including RAID logs, status reports, and governance packs
• Identify and manage data-related risks, issues, and dependencies
• Develop training and uplift capability across data owners and business stakeholders
• Collaborate with business, technology teams, and external vendors

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience establishing data governance frameworks in complex environments
• Strong background in data quality management, profiling, and remediation
• Experience supporting ERP or large-scale enterprise system implementations
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, metadata, and data standards
• Experience with data migration, mapping, and reconciliation processes
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders across business and technology teams
• Experience working with governance frameworks, reporting, and risk management
